The Office of the Public Independent Conciliator this year began official participation in the Celebration marking the International Women’s day. The institution has been very much active since the Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family kick-start preparatory activities of the 38th edition at the level of the South-West Region .
Mme the PIC actively involved in a preparatory activity
Not only has the Office taken part in preliminary meetings held in February 2023, the launching of the International Women’s Day on 1st March 2023, sensitization workshop/debate and sketches and other activities organized by the Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, it was also involved in in-house preparatory activities. The high-point of these preparatory activities was the Human Investment day which took place on the eve of the celebration proper in the Office premises.
Supervised by the Public Independent Conciliator Mme Telelen Dorothy Atabong spouse Motaze, the personnel of the Office, in the spirit of HEFORSHE; the women accompanied by the men, carried out the cleaning of offices and other sections of the premises. This was followed rehearsal of the march past of the female staff in preparation for the D-day to take place at Bongo Square to be chaired by the Governor of the South-West Region.
Female and Male staff very active in Human Investment Activity
In line with preparation of the event, the PIC granted a live interview on Mountain News on Mount Cameroon FM where she vividly briefed the public on how the institution has been involved in the preparatory as well as preparing for the D-day on March 8th 2023.
It should be noted this year International Women’s Day Celebration in Cameroon is held under the theme ‘For an Inclusive Digital World; Innovations Technologies for Gender Equality’. The theme seeks to invite governments, and the private sector alike to power-on in their efforts to make the digital world safer, more inclusive and more equitable.
